Readify launches new website….

23 09 2008

Just a quick post to let you know that Readify has just released a new version of our corporate website.

It showcases some of the UX/UI + Silverlight skills we have available for your consulting and training engagements.

If you have used links in emails that I have previously sent out these won’t work. Do not be alarmed :) we are still in operation.

The website is still www.readify.net

Training is now http://readify.net/training-and-events/ with a new booking engine as well.

Consulting offerings is http://readify.net/consulting/

And the RDN section can be found here http://readify.net/training-and-events/rdn-readify-developer-network/

And while you are there check out our TechZone where you can find a number of free tools we have developed to help out on our consulting engagements.

Living in Perth does have its advantages….

23 09 2008

It’s been a while since I blogged and decided to just take the opportunity to start again after a short break.

Over the past 4 weeks I have had a couple of interstate trips, one to the Microsoft Partner conference in Port Douglas (10 hours travel each way) and one to TechEd in Sydney (5 hours travel each way) and to be honest it took a fair bit out of me.

Getting back to Perth and back into it again does have is advantages. It is a fantastic day today, going to reach 24 apparently and I am currently catching up on my blogging whilst overlooking the glorious Indian Ocean which is a glorious turquoise colour at the moment.

Now back onto catching up on things and letting you all know what is happening in Perth in the lead up to Christmas.

SharePoint training in Perth

25 08 2008

To address the wider ongoing SharePoint skills shortage in Perth Readify will be running our Professional MOSS 2007 course locally between 23-26th September. This is a fantastic opportunity to get a couple of developers onto this course to help build your own capabilities around SharePoint, who will then be able to deliver more SharePoint solutions for your organization or clients.

This course has a slightly different focus than other SharePoint training courses in Perth as it is more focused around the Architecture and Development skills required for delivering SharePoint solutions. Other training courses tend to focus on the administration of SharePoint. See link for info on the Readify course.

Places are limited, so help your clients to please book ASAP.

If you want to talk to me about group discounts or private courses then give me a call.

Readify .Net Training and RDN update…

10 08 2008

RDN this week.

Come and here Graeme Foster and Chris Padgett talk about all things WCF related on Thursday 14th August from 5.30pm at Cliftons (Australia Place)

If you haven’t registered yet then follow this link to put you name down.

Again, this will be a great opportunity to hear some targeted training on WCF by two of Readify’s most skilled WCF consultants, with free pizza and an opportunity to network afterwards.

Following on from our first RDN in Perth in which 80 people attended, we already have nearly 60 registered for this event. I look forward to seeing you there.

Professional .Net 3.5 Public Training

There are still a couple of spots available on our Professional .Net 3.5 training course which starts on Monday 18th August 2008. If you are interested and would like to secure a spot then please follow this link to register. Remember if you also attended the RDN Dev Day then there is a $300 discount on this training course. (let me know when you register so I can adjust the invoice)

Another 2 new starters in Perth

10 08 2008

Over the last couple of weeks we have been flat out with the first RDN Dev Day which was attended by over 50 people and was a great success.

We have also managed to secure the services of two fantastic local people.

Hadley Willan starts with us on Monday 11th August as a Senior Developer and will be straight into the thick of things. He will be in Melbourne attending our internal SharePoint Architecture training, to help boost our SharePoint capabilities locally, and then straight onsite with a client for a couple of weeks.

Now on all things SharePoint, we have one of the finest and most respected  SharePoint architects in Perth joining the Readify ranks. Jeremy Thake joins us on 1st September as a Senior Consultant and will be straight out into the field. No surprises there given the demand for SharePoint resources. :)

Please join me in welcoming the newest recruits to the Readify Perth team.

Standby for further announcements over the coming weeks and months for the next people to join Readify in WA to continue to bolster our local team.

11 07 2008

We have just scheduled this fantastic course to run between August 18th – 22nd 2008 in Perth.

The feedback from attendees who have already sat this course have been exceptionally positive.

“with out doubt the best Readify courseware which has been produced to date” – Mitch Denny – Principal Consultant

As with all Readify courses, they are run by our Consultants who live and breath .Net technology every day, so you get answers to your day to day problems.

If you have any questions please contact me to discuss.

RDN Dev Day arrives in WA…

4 07 2008

Following on from our hugely successful Perth RDN, we have now put together a seminar style RDN “Dev Day” which will encompass two streams of presentation and hands on labs.

This day offers extremely good value to hear two of Readify’s 10 MVP’s talk about various .Net subjects and offer hands on experience around what is being presented.

These events are not just for developers, as many IT managers, consultants, business analysts and testers also find it valuable to learn about various technologies they wouldn’t normally get exposure to.

Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. Bookings open 3rd July – 18th July.

Please register here for the event.

Full information is here on our web site.

Readify WA secures two top shelf consultants…

4 07 2008

I am very pleased to announce that Readify has secured two local WA consultants over the past couple of weeks.

Graeme Foster starts as a Senior Consultant on the 14th July and Hadley Willan will join us as a Senior Developer after a brief holiday back home in NZ, towards the end of August.

We welcome both of our new recruits to the Readify team and both are very excited about helping grow the WA presence. I say presence as Readify is built on a virtual company ethos, so we don’t have an “office” as such.

Want to know more about our virtual company ethos? Check out our link to the Readify web site.

I’m sure both Graeme and Hadley will start blogging more regularly now they are part of the Readify team. I bit like I need to do really. :)

Training, Training, Training

12 06 2008

As I sit here in Melbourne airport waiting for a flight back to Perth, it dawned on me that I have not posted a blog entry in a while.

So while thinking about what to blog about, I have decided to focus on something that we have lots of enquiries for this week. TRAINING.

It takes all forms. We hold public course which are all uploaded to our web site now. You can find the plan for the scheduled courses here and they include scheduled Perth events. If something takes your fancy and it is not scheduled then register your interest.

We also hold private training courses specifically for companies and government departments, and we are also able to perform specific demo/focused training on specific problems your business may be having and want solved.

We can offer a 2 day workshop in WCF which is a cut down version of Juval Lowy’s 5 day Master class, which is almost sold out. This is a fantastic course on WCF. To ensure your company get the most out of this course we can also do a short consulting engagement to ensure you are ready for WCF.

If you have any queries around your training needs then please give me a call. We are very flexible and  can tailor something specifically for you.

Perth RDN a fantastic success……

30 05 2008

I just wanted to thank everyone who turned up last night to our first RDN in Perth.

You all made this the fantastic success that it turned out to be.

A couple of people I wanted to single out are Mitch Wheat (.Net User community) and Rhenise Crozier (Robert Walters) who very kindly emailed the RDN flyer out to their .Net mailing lists.

On behalf of all the Readify staff who presented and attended last night, a massive thanks. I look forward to meeting more of you over the coming months and working out where we can add value to your companies and your ongoing technical .Net development skills.
