After being a home owner for the past 10 years I had forgotten about the joys associated with finding rental property.
First of all, you are basically treated like second class citizens by the real estate agents, and secondly we are currently in one of the worst times in Australia’s history for a shortage of quality rental property.
With this in mind, i was not looking forward to entering this market again, or being on the other end as a landlord and not wanting to my prospective tenants to go through what is generally accepted as normally service.
I am pleased to say that we managed to find both a fantastic agent in Perth whom we have rented a property through and had another equally fantastic experience in Melbourne when leasing out our property.
On both of these occasions, we were made to feel respected, were constantly kept in the loop with what was happening, and had direct access to the people actually doing the work for us. What a difference this made for the experience. I would have no hesitation in recommending their work to anyone, if interested let me know.
Both our Melbourne property and the Perth one were all secured late last week. What an end to the week it was. But with this now done it’s time for the packers to move in early next week before the actual move. Oh and in line with my previous post on supporting a virtual company – I am writing this from a cafe in Hampton St, Hampton watching the rain clouds roll in from the bay…..Beautiful…..
I think Andy might be getting the hang of this blogging caper
